Named GP - All Patients, including children have been allocated a named, accountable GP. This may be different from the GP you normally see but overall responsibility for patient care has not changed. This is largely a role of oversight, with the requirements being introduced to reassure patients that they have one GP within the practice who is responsible for ensuring that this work is carried out on their behalf.
Booking Appointments on line.....Please only book routine appointments on line. If you need a specialist clinic appointment, such as a coil or implant fitting/removal please telephone the surgery to book as they are carried out by specific doctors and command a longer appointment time. If you are unsure please telephone the surgery and speak to a receptionist who can advise you accordingly and signpost you to the correct clinician and appointment time. We thank you for your co-operation.
Items that you can obtain on a repeat prescription are printed on a tear-off strip as part of the prescription form. You must return the tear-off slip with the items you require ticked off.
They can be returned either by posting them in the box next to reception or by mail (Please include a self addressed stamped envelope) . You may also follow the link at the top of this page to the online form. You will need to carry out the simple one-time registration.
From March 31st 2015 we are improving on-line access to patient records for requesting repeat prescriptions, which now includes booking some appointments on line and being able to access some information from your medical records.
AS PART OF THIS YOU WILL NOW NEED TO REGISTER AND USE A PERSONAL LOG IN AND PASSWORD TO ACCESS THE ON LINE SERVICES from 31st March 2015.
Please contact the Surgery next time you want to request a repeat prescription and the staff can organise access to these services - YOU WILL NEED TO CONFIRM YOUR IDENTITY AND MAY NEED TO PROVIDE OFFICIAL IDENTIFICATION FOR OUR RECORDS, such as a passport or driving licence.
From January 2018 the order time for repeat prescriptions will reduce to 48 hours (2 working days).
We DO NOT accept requests by telephone, as this can block the lines for urgent calls.
Please note if you are on regular repeat medication we have now reviewed our medication review system and from May 2012 you may only need to attend for a medication review every 3 -12 months depending on your clinical condition. The clinical team will assess your medication when your review is due and you may be asked to book appointments with the nursing team for routine monitoring blood tests / Management of your Diabetes/ Asthma/ Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease/Coronary Heart Disease/ Hypertension etc. Our aim is to ensure that your medical condition is managed by the appropriate person and avoid uneccesary surgery visits for you.
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website
Please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery.
